Date Free Bliss Ball

Trying to reduce the amount of sugar in your diet that dates bring with them? These date free balls are a delicious chocolatey treat to have in the freezer to curb that sweet craving!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup (130g) sunflower seeds
  • Β½ cup (60g) coconut flour
  • Β½ cup (25g) coconut chips/flakes
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) cacao powder
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup (120g) hulled tahini
  • 3 tablespoons honey (use maple syrup for vegan option)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

METHOD:

  1. Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until finely chopped and has come together.
  2. Roll into balls about 3cm in diameter.
  3. Store in the fridge or freezer in an airtight container.
  4. Optional extra – I like to drizzle mine with this vegan white chocolate or with some melted 70% or higher dark chocolate. I find this works best once the bliss balls have had a chance to cool in the fridge.

NOTES:
* Either hulled or unhulled tahini can be used, or any kind of nut butter if you can tolerate.
** Honey can be swapped for maple syrup or another liquid sweetener.
*** Sunflower seeds can also be substituted for pepitas or nuts if you can tolerate.
