Flax Mustard Salad Dressing

Everything tastes better with the right dressing or sauce right?

This flax mustard salad dressing is to die for!! I recently went to a retreat and this was one of dressings we had for our meals – it is amazing, I just had to share!!

It’s an easy dressing to make up in bulk and just leave it in a jar in the fridge – trust me it’s one that you need to make up and have on hand!!

Flaxseed oil is loaded with heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. It is easily substituted with other oils you would use in salads, you can add a tablespoon to your smoothies for it’s health benefits, but avoid cooking with it as it has a low smoke point. You can also use flaxseed oil on your skin for added moisture or applied to your hair as a hair treatment.

I love adding this dressing to a leafy green salad mix as a tasty side.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup flaxseed oil*
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon french mustard**
  • 1 clove garlic diced

METHOD:

  1. Place all ingredients into a jar and shake.
  2. Store in the fridge until needed.

NOTES:
* Flaxseed oil will go rancid very quickly, so make sure you purchase it in a brown bottle in the fridge. It can be stored in the fridge or freezer (it won’t freeze!)
** I use an organic french mustard, but dijon mustard will work in this recipe to at 1:1
