Vegan Ranch-Style Dressing

Ranch dressing is a savoury, creamy American salad dressing usually made from buttermilk, salt, garlic, onion, mustard, herbs, and spices mixed into a sauce based on mayonnaise or another oil emulsion. This is my take on making this recipe dairy and egg free. Other than using as a salad dressing, use as a dip for chicken pieces or hot chips, over roasted vegetables, in sandwiches or as an add on for your avocado on toast.

INGREDIENTS:

  • ¾ cup (160g) coconut yoghurt* (see notes)
  • ½ cup diced cucumber (1 small cucumber)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅓ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon himalayan salt
  • ¼ teaspoon dried dill

METHOD:

  1. Mix all ingredients into a jar.
  2. Store in the fridge for up to a week, using as needed.

NOTES:

* Greek yoghurt can be used in place of the coconut yoghurt, if you can tolerate it, although it will no longer be vegan.
