Stewed Apples




Stewed apples quick easy and delicious. Ready in 10 minutes, eat them warm, cold, as a filling for an easy apple crumble, with ice-cream, porridge, overnight oats, chia pudding and so much more!




INGREDIENTS:

  • 3-4 medium sized apples (peeled and diced into 1.5cm)
  • 3 x tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 x teaspoon vanilla
  • 1½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • juice ½ lemon
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • pinch of salt




METHOD:

  1. In a medium sized saucepan place all ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  2. With the lid on, bring heat to med-low for 5-10 minutes until soft.
  3. Depending on the dryness of the apples, you may need to add another tablespoon of water.
  4. Eat straight away or store in airtight container or jar once cooled.





NOTES:

* Use any kind of firm, crisp apples.
** Apple stew can be frozen once cooled.
