Oven Roasted Chickpeas
Gluten, Dairy, Egg, Nut and Refined Sugar Free
A few months ago a found some roasted chickpeas at a supermarket – they ticked most of the boxes on how we choose to eat – a really healthy and additive free option. My kids loved me getting them because they loved the taste of them (and they come in a little packets – what is it about that for kids!!) Ok, so I can’t help them with the little plastic packet, but I figure I would look at trying to make them for them instead.
So this is the recipe I have come up with and it did get the tick of approval!! It is easy to do and it uses simple ingredients that most people will already have in your pantry.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 x tin of chickpeas (drained and rinsed)
- 1/2 tsp Ground Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Fine Himalayan Salt (or salt of choice)
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1/4 tsp Ground Sweet Paprika
- 2 Tbl Extra Virgin Olive Oil
METHOD:
- Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees
- Place all ingredients into small mixing bowl and mix gently together until chickpeas are coated
- Pour chickpeas onto prepared baking tray
- Cook for 40 minutes, or until chickpeas are crispy, tossing every 10 minutes to allow the chickpeas to cook evenly
- Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.
