Fermented Caramel Dates

Gluten, Dairy, Egg, Nut and Refined Sugar Free

This fermented caramel dates is so good!! I use it in alot of sweet recipes and also have it on it’s own and use cut up apple and other fruits and use it as a dip. The main ingredient is fermented dates. If you have never fermented before don’t let it scare you – it really is very easy. If you can pour into a jar you will be fine!!

Fermentation is a process that involves the breakdown of carbs by bacteria and yeast, it also promotes the growth of beneficial probiotics. Fermented foods have been associated with a range of health benefits β€” from better digestion to stronger immunity. It’s worth trying to incorporate these foods into your diet.

FERMENTING DATES:

All the ingredients you will need are dates and kefir or Kombucca. I like to use a coconut water kefir starter and make my own at home. I get it from Kultured Wellness, here is the link . All you need to do is to place the dates into a large jar, and add enough kefir to cover the dates with a few centimentres of extra kefir on top. Place the lid of the jar on and store out of direct sunlight. Allow to sit for 24-48 hours and they are done. The amount of time needed to ferment will depend on the conditions. Warmer weather reduces the amount of time. Once done, place the jar as is into the fridge until needed.
